The HKDR Annual Sponsored Walk will be on 1 December 2019 (Sunday)!

It’s P2F time again but we are moving the event to the South side this year, with the Pulse as the venue and the beautiful trail along Repulse Bay & Deep Water Bay being the walking route.

WHAT IS HONG KONG DOG RESCUE (HKDR)?

Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) was first set up as a society in 2003 and gained full charity (non-profit) status in March 2005. It is run by founder, Sally Andersen, with a very small number of paid staff and a large team of dedicated volunteers.

HKDR was initially established to save as many dogs and puppies as possible from inevitable death at the Government’s AFCD Centres by taking them out and finding them new homes but has since expanded to include education and lobbying for changes in the outdated Animal Welfare Laws. Up to 15,000 dogs are destroyed each in Hong Kong simply because they have no home. To date, HKDR has found new homes for around 9,000 lucky dogs and puppies, which is a lot of lives saved but still a small percentage of the total number needing help. HKDR’s aim is to increase the number of dogs saved while decreasing the number of dogs abandoned, or simply unwanted.
