Step 4: Registration Completed

Upon completion of 5 consecutive supervisor- approved shift, congratulations, you are now a registered kennel volunteer under the new system

* Supervised Shifts

By participating in the supervised shifts, we hope to provide current dog walking volunteers with an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the changes and new tasks associated with the new system. We understand that this may represent a change for some of our longstanding volunteers, but we believe that this new requirement is essential to creating a cleaner and safer kennel environment for our dogs. We also believe that your participation will set a positive example for newly trained volunteers, and help us to maintain the high standards of care that our dogs deserve.

  • Volunteers on Supervised Shifts must sign in at the entrance and ask staff to assign specific kennel tasks (including cleaning, dishwashing, grooming, and other related tasks) for them at each shift.
  • Bookings are not required, but volunteers on Supervised Shifts must attend the entire shift (10am to 1pm OR 3pm to 6pm, with a maximum of 30 minute buffer time).
  • Volunteers on Supervised Shifts must wear a “Volunteer-in-Training” badge (to be provided onsite).
  • At the end of each Supervised Shift, please ask the staff members on duty to review your shift and sign on your Volunteer ID Card.

Please do not hesitate to contact any staff members at Tai Po if you have any questions or concerns regarding the new registration procedure. We appreciate your cooperation in completing this new registration procedure. You can also email us at tp.volunteer@hongkongdogrescue.com if you have any questions.
