Want to Volunteer?   想成為義工嗎?

If you would like to come and spend time with our adorable dogs, we are always looking for new dog walking volunteers to join our great team of volunteers.

We really depend on our dedicated volunteers to ensure that our dogs are well exercised, socialised, trained and happy.

At our Tai Po kennels there are usually around 150 dogs waiting for adoption at any one time. We are always looking for anyone who is willing to help with dog walking, dog training, dog grooming and socialising.

All you need is a love of dogs and the willingness to get your hands (and clothes) dirty.

Please note:

All new volunteers are required to complete an orientation with HKDR's Behaviour & Training Manager before they can walk the dogs at our kennels.

The minimum age for volunteer applicants is 14 years old.

Those between the ages of 14 and 18 must have a parent visit the kennels to sign the parental consent section of the Student Volunteer Application Form. This is to confirm that the parents have seen the kennel environment and are happy for their child to volunteer unaccompanied at the kennels.

If you would like to join our happy and enthusiastic band of volunteers, please complete a volunteer application form.

If you represent a company, school or activity group please click here for details on what HKDR can offer your group.

If you have already registered as a Volunteer and would like to confirm your shift times or for any other enquiries please email Nana at volunteers@hongkongdogrescue.com.

If Tai Po is too far away for you, or you don't have the time to do any on-site kennel work, you can still help in many other ways.

We are always looking for volunteers in the following areas:

- Anyone able to help with stalls at various fairs and markets

- Anyone willing to help with fundraising

- Anyone who can help with public relations and event planning

- Anyone willing to put up posters or hand out event fliers in their area

- Anyone willing to pass information via their email list

- Anyone with a car willing to drive dogs to various destinations

- If you have a specialised skill that you think may be helpful, please contact us to discuss!
